हिन्दू पंचांग के अनुसार भाद्रपद मास ३१ अगस्त शुरू हो रहा हैं भाद्रपद मास मैं हमारे खेत खलिहानो मैं, हमारे जंगलो मैं उगने वाली घास पाक जाती हैं
जिसे हम घास कहते हैं, वह वास्तव में अत्यंत दुर्लभ औषधि हैं।

राजस्थान की मरुधरा मैं मुख्य रूप से धामन एवं सेवण घास खेतो और जंगलो मैं उगती हैं जो की गोमाता को बहुत प्रिय होती हैं इसके अलावा मरुभूमि पर अनेको औषधियां ( मुरट, भूरट,बेकर, कण्टी, ग्रामणा, मखणी, कूरी, झेर्णीया,सनावड़ी, लम्प, गोखरू, अश्वगंधा, सफ़ेद मूसली आदि ) वनस्पतियां इन दिनों पक कर लहलहाने लगती हैं।

वर्षा ऋतु की के पश्चात रोहणी नक्षत्र की तपन से संतृप्त उर्वरकों से ये घास और औषधीय वनस्पतियां बहुत तेजी से बढ़कर पाक जाती हैं

इन घास एवं जड़ी बूटियों पर जब दो शुक्ल पक्ष गुजर जाते हैं तो चंद्रमा का अमृत इनमें समा जाता है। आश्चर्यजनक रूप से इनकी गुणवत्ता बहुत बढ़ जाती है। घूमते हुए गौमाता इन्हें चरकर शाम को आकर बैठ जाती है। रात भर जुगाली करती हैं और अमृत रस को अपने दुग्ध में परिवर्तित करती हैं। यह दूध भी अत्यंत गुणकारी होता है। इससे बने दही को जब मथा जाता है तो स्वर्णिम आभायुक्त लिए मक्खन निकलता है। इस मक्खन को गर्म करके घी बनाया जाता है। इसे ही भादवेका घी कहते हैं।

यह घी स्वर्णिम आभायुक्त होता है। ढक्कन खोलते ही इसकी मादक सुगन्ध हवा में तैरने लगती है। इस तरह भादवे के घी में औषधियों का सर्वोत्तम सत्व आ जाता हैं इस घी से हवन, देवपूजन और श्राद्ध करने से अखिल पर्यावरण, देवता और पितृ तृप्त हो जाते हैं।

कभी सारे मारवाड़ में इस घी की धाक थी। इसका सेवन करने वाली विश्नोई समाज महिला 5 वर्ष के उग्र सांड की पिछली टांग पकड़ लेती और वह चूं भी नहीं कर पाता था। पुराने लोगो द्वारा वर्णित प्रत्यक्ष की घटना में एक व्यक्ति ने एक रुपये के सिक्के को मात्र उँगुली और अंगूठे से मोड़कर दोहरा कर दिया था!!

आधुनिक विज्ञान तो घी को वसा के रूप में परिभाषित करता है। उसे भैंस का घी भी वैसा ही नजर आता है। वनस्पति घी, डालडा और चर्बी में भी अंतर नहीं पता उसे।
लेकिन पारखी लोग तो यह तक पता कर देते थे कि यह फलां गाय का घी है!!

यही वह घी था जिसके कारण युवा जोड़े दिन भर कठोर परिश्रम करने के बाद, रात भर रतिक्रिया करने के बावजूद, बिलकुल नहीं थकते थे (वात्स्यायन)!
एक बकरे को आधा सेर घी पिलाने पर वह एक ही रात में 200 बकरियों को “हरी” कर देता था!!

इसमें स्वर्ण की मात्रा इतनी रहती थी, जिससे सिर कटने पर भी धड़ लड़ते रहते थे!!बाड़मेर जिले के गूंगा गांव में घी की मंडी थी। वहाँ सारे मरुस्थल का अतिरिक्त घी बिकने आता था जिसके परिवहन का कार्य बाळदिये भाट करते थे।

घी की गुणवत्ता तब और बढ़ जाती, यदि गाय पैदल चलते हुए स्वयं गौचर में चरती थी, तालाब का पानी पीती, जिसमें प्रचुर विटामिन डी होता है ऐसी गौमाता के दूध से दही जमा कर बिलौना पद्वति के द्वारा बनाया हुआ हो

वही गायें, वही भादवा और वही घास आज भी है। इस महान रहस्य को जानते हुए भी यदि यह व्यवस्था भंग हो गई तो किसे दोष दें?

जो इस अमृत का उपभोग कर रहे हैं वे निश्चय ही भाग्यशाली हैं। यदि घी शुद्ध है तो जिस किसी भी भाव से मिले, अवश्य ले लें।
